Mohamed Salah Extends Apology to Liverpool Dressing Room, Discloses Curtis Jones
Jones has disclosed that Salah expressed regret to the team in the wake of the uproar from his public comments.
What Happened
He was omitted from a European match following making accusations and claiming his relationship with manager had deteriorated.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, please accept my apology.’”
The manager has previously declined to reveal on whether he received a personal apology from the 33-year-old forward.
Looking Ahead
The player stated that the dressing room atmosphere was unchanged. “He was the exact same Mo, he was smiling and everybody was exactly the same with him,” he continued.
He also noted that a player's desire to start is preferable. “I understand there are certain ways you can handle situations,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just not start, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Positive Results
Their results have remained strong in the period after the initial controversy. The player is convinced the outburst were not intended to destabilise the squad.
“In moments of frustration, it has consistently come from a good place,” Jones concluded. “It's behind us and we’re building chemistry, performing and securing victories.”
