The GHF aimed to circumvent United Nations channels as the primary provider of relief to Palestinian residents.

UN and other aid agencies would not collaborate with its methodology, claiming it was unethical and unsafe.

Hundreds of Palestinians were killed while trying to acquire nourishment amid chaotic scenes near GHF's sites, mostly by Israeli fire, based on UN documentation.

The Israeli military claimed its forces fired cautionary rounds.

"GHF's model, in which militant groups were prevented from misappropriating relief supplies, was significantly influential in bringing Palestinian factions to negotiations and establishing a truce."

Feedback and Statements

Hamas - which denies stealing aid - welcomed the closure of the aid organization, as indicated by media.

A representative of said the foundation should be subject to scrutiny for the negative impact it created to Gazans.

"We call upon all international human rights organisations to make certain that consequences are faced after resulting in fatalities and harm of thousands of Gazans and concealing the starvation policy implemented by the Israeli government."

Future Implications

The GHF's future had been unclear since militant groups and the Israeli government approved a truce agreement to carry out the primary segment of the American administration's peace initiative.

It said aid distribution would take place "absent meddling from the both sides through the United Nations and its agencies, and the Red Crescent, in addition to other global organizations not associated in any manner" with Palestinian factions and Israeli authorities.

International organization official Stephane Dujarric declared this week that the organization's termination would have "no influence" on its work "since we never collaborated with them".
